Daddy/Daughter vacation and fishing trip. Elli caught her first trout on a fly right out of the cabin door. Then we went up Spearfish Canyon Creek and she also caught her first brook trout on a fly. Deadwood gunfights were awesome. Wickiup Cabins perfect as always. Thanks for the memories.

Elli - 8 years old - The cabin is close to the creek and I caught my first brown trout. I also like Deadwood because the shows were funny.

It’s so beautiful here. We could easily lose track of time. This truly is a hidden gem in the forest. We’re looking forward to our next stay year when we bring friends and family! So far, Ten Sleep is my favorite cabin walking out to the river each morning and relaxing next to it each night. Beautiful!

What a great place - love this little cabin. Very clean and homey. Could stay here forever. Starla and her boyfriend…what great people and very accommodating. It’s a long drive from Spokane, WA to here but planning on coming back here again.

Perfect cabin for two. Nice getaway for us without kids, dogs, working remotely, etc. Nice view, quiet and peaceful. Clean cabins. Spent our days hiking the canyons, shopping in Deadwood and driving through Custer State Park.

Such a cozy cabin with breath taking views. We enjoyed having a beer by the creek in the evening and coffee by the creek in the morning. Even the snow didn’t ruin our experience…if anything made it more beautiful.

Our 2nd trip to Sturgis together and our 6th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t think of any better way to spend it. We found this place last year and knew we had to come back. We are so glad we did. Les, Jackie and Starla are amazing. The creek running in front of our cabin compared with the rumble of the bikes make for a perfect back drop to write and drink a cup of coffee. Cant wait for next year!

This is our third time at Wickiup! Years ago we lived in Rapid City for 4 years. We just love everything about the Black Hills. Starla and Les and Jackie are just the best! Showed us some new areas we have never been too. Rode up on the Can am trike from Grand island, NE. This is our 40th anniversary trip. I always find there are wonderful people on our travels! Feeling blessed.

We stumble upon on these cabins after mentioning to the some friend that we wanted to stay in Deadwood - heard about “Kool Deadwood Nights” and tried our luck to see if any available cabins at Wickiup. The staff was very accommodating and made some provision for us - had 2 perfect cabins - loved our stay and enjoyed the cabins and surrounding beauty. Amazing Relaxing Stay.

This is our 4th time staying at the Wickiup!  This has been another fabulous stay!  Bob grew up in Deadwood so this is a return "home" for him.  I have learned to love the area just as much as him.  All of the Wickiup cabins are great but we especially like being close to the creek.  Bob fishes everyday and catches his limit every day!  I enjoy fish dinners every night.  Jackie and Les are wonderful people and we truly enjoy talking with them each day!  Until next time:  safe travels, God Bless.

Les and Jackie, Again we leave Tensleep our favorite little cabin, moving to Log Hut tomorrow, so more family can join us.  Rain or shine, warm or cold the creek still babbles, , the birds still sing, the pines sway in the breeze, the chipmunks rustle under the leaves and I hear the voice of God in the still, quiet of nights spent at Wickiup Village.  This year dirt got moved, borders got built, trees got hewn, grandchildren got blessed, rooms got cleaned and Jackie, Les and all the crew were the arms, face and hands of God as you greeted guests and made us all welcome in this wonderful place - "loaned to you to care for a time."  Love you all.

What an incredible trip! I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful experience.  We came here from Kansas City, MO. and I thought this was going to be an average vacation...to my surprise, the man of my dreams Christopher Lee asked me to marry him on the uncovered bridge! I was so totally surprised and happy. We really enjoyed staying at this cozy little cabin.  Even though it rained for most of our stay, we still had a great time enjoying the beautiful scenery.  It was lovely to hole up out of the rain next to the gas stove.  We hope to make it back again someday!
