We had a splendid time at Rally. Les, Jackie and even Starla had a great BBQ. Our Mom and Mother in Law passed away Wed. August 9th back home and everyone who found out was very supportive. Aug 7th we had a memorial service for one of our fellow riders who lost her battle with cancer 1 year ago. Ashes in the creek and Mt. Rushmore her final resting place. RIP Deb Ward.

This was our first family vacation. It was a breathe taking few days the surroundings completely cleanse the soul. We all have had a beautiful experience here and cant wait to plan our next trip here. The staff has been so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here to anyone that wants to get away from it all and feel that weight be lifted off their shoulders.

As soon as I arrived I heard kids laughing. We went and explored Devil's Bathtub. It was so much fun! To anybody who is reading this you should definitely go there! You could climb the rocks so you wouldnt get wait!(unless you wanted to, like me) You can also see so many animals like I saw 1 deer and a lot of birds. There were 2 little waterfalls. It was definitely a wet journey but a fun one. I hope I can visit again soon!

Staying in a cabin is something I always wanted to do. I'm 56 and I finally did it here. This is a beautiful place. I grew up in Piedmont and living in Montana. South Dakota will always be home. Hope to come back here soon.

I came here with my family to just get away from awhile. We got into our cabin earlier this afternoon and were right away greeted by Les and Jackie. They are wonderful people. Life hasn't been great lately and coming here I was hoping to find some sort of sign. As soon as we got here the scenery was amazing. When I finally got out of the car, I got this unexplained feeling. It felt wonderful. I felt relief and happiness. As I stood there and looked at all the beauty surrounding me the sound of the stream made everything so peaceful. I think I finally found that sign I was looking for. I could not be more grateful for such a wonderful place to be and for this opportunity. Thank you. I will be back soon.

Fantastic visit at Wickiup! Loved every minute with tons to do and a great central location. The owners here and the staff are extremely nice and accommodating! What a great time and place for our family reunion with the Caulkins clan. About 63 people and Wickiup accommodated us all!! Thanks

I use to come to these cabins when I and my family came to visit my dad's mom, who lived in Lead. My dad's father and his brothers all worked at the Homestake Mine. The cabins have not changed much except that they now have indoor plumbing (a nice touch). Grandpa Dry's grave is in the cemetery at the top of Mill Street. Over the years as I moved from Wyoming to Texas, this place always draws me back. I have brought my wife and kids here and now this year I have brought my grandson. He loves this place now, also. Someday he may bring his kids here. Keep the tradition alive.

My brother and I spent the past 5 days exploring the Black Hills in a Polaris RZR and CcanAM X3 and it was some of the best racing we have ever done. We put in over 500 miles on the trails and cant wait to come back.

Big family reunion here. Everyone loved the accommodations. Staff was always available if we needed something but not intrusive at all. Only helpful. Cabins are sweet and grounds are nicely kept. Really nice facility. Thank you Wickiup!!

My husband and his family stayed here often when he was a child. They always had a wonderful time and great adventures. This was our first time here as our family and we have the same to report. A truly great time and beyond wonderful adventures. The cabins are beautiful and well stocked. The staff is wonderful and there was plenty to do and explore right on the grounds. We very much look forward to continuing the Swanson family tradition of staying as often as we can at the Wickiup Cabins. Thanks for a great stay.

Great base camp for the trip to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. The 2 cabins were perfect for the 11 of us (3 generations) in our 2 week whirlwind trip. The kids had fun tubing and even more fun building forts with the debris at the top of hill.

Having just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary we wanted to come back to Wickiup for a relaxing get-away. This is not our first visit as we have been here several times before and love it. Love the stream, the beauty of the trees and the hospitality of the staff. Never, however, in our previous stays, has it rained as much as it had on Monday and Tuesday nights (4 inches plus). The cabin came through with flying colors! It has been a GREAT 3 days and I'm sure we will return again!

Just passing thru the Black Hills and found this gem, Wickiup! Love the peacefulness, the creek, smores and hotdogs at the Fire Pit. Definitely saving this spot for future getaways. Met a lot of great people here, made some great memories for our family.

Tuesday night arrived at 10:30pm - we were lost but with the help of calling Jackie like 3 times we finally found it! Went right to bed. Loved sleeping on the porch. Woke up. Me (Lamont age 46) went tubing down the creek with my son (Israel age 16) a very long way and my mom, his grandmother (Patricia age 68) picked us up with our van. Water was 48 degrees and boy was it cold! (we're from Florida) but had a blast! Got flipped out of the tubes many time but it was awesome!
